"The Swansea Beach Soccer Festival to be held on Swansea Beach on 14th July 2018 is a great idea...promoting coaching and kids playing on the beach... encouraging skillful players and the enjoyment of the game...With girls, boys, disability, Academy and Veterans Teams there's something for everyone. And there's music and entertainment for all the family to enjoy. All Swansea 'Football People' and the general public should get behind this event. Good luck to all the teams!" "I am so pleased to hear about the Swansea Beach Soccer festival which will take place in July. I have fond memories of being a young lad growing up in the Sandfields and playing soccer on the beach was part of my football development. I recall there would be 20 a side games and when you passed the ball you wouldn't see it for another 15 minutes - so I decided when I got it , I would have to hang on to it for as long as I could!. That's where I learned to dribble and run with the ball, it was as simple as that. I remember on Sunday mornings in particular, you could look along the stretch of Swansea bay and there would be games of football being played by lads from Dan ygraig, Port-Tennant, Hafod areas, Brynmill boys, Ashleigh Road boys as well as us the Sandfields boys- IT WAS QUITE A SIGHT. I wish you a very successful festival... All my very best wishes" Cliff Jones, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur and Wales
